Frequently Asked Questions
We thought it was about time we answered some of those most frequently asked questions we get asked. Which is why we have created this blog post for you all to read.
# What is a virtual assistant/va?
This can be the most frequently asked question we get asked. A Virtual Assistant/VA support businesses much like a traditional PA or Administrator would. Only they work remotely and mainly from home. VA’s can also provide other services that a traditional PA or administrator might not provide. Such as Audio Transcription, Social Media Marketing, Event Management, SEO and Email Marketing.
# Remotely, how does that work?
The benefit of this are simply this, your VA works from their own office, while providing you with the support your business needs. You don’t have the additional costs of providing them with a work space. A VA has their own computer, printer and office equipment in their own workspace.
Emails are an essential tool for a VA and of course the phone, Skype, Zoom and even social media apps like messenger or WhatsApp are great ways to keep in contact. We also use clouds such as Dropbox, Google Drive and Microsoft Teams to share and save documents. We work to the needs of our clients, and can adapt to the systems that your business uses.
# What types of services do you provide?
Our team of VA’s can provide you with many types of support: from General Admin services, Social Media Management, Event Management any many more. You can visit our services page to find out more about the types of services we can offer.
# I’m not sure what type of support I need.
The best way to discover the type of support you might need from a VA, is to think of all those jobs you don’t like doing or never have the time for – these are often the tasks that a VA loves to do. You can start by making a list of all the things you have to do each day, and make a list of those tasks you don’t like, this is where you can have support from a VA
# How much do you charge?
We offer a range of support packages to suit your business needs, these start from £115 per month, but we can support your business with one off/ad-hoc projects to suit your budget.
We can provide your business with ongoing support with one of our monthly retainer packages, these are based on a set amount of support each month, but are built around the services that you need support with. You can find out more on our rates page.
# What if we’re only looking for occasional support?
We can provide you with as little or as much support as you need. Be it a one-off job, ad-hoc support, or regular monthly support. You tell us what you need and we’ll adapt to your requirements.
# Is it going to be expensive?
Virtual Assistants are self-employed rather than an employee, so you do not need to worry about paying any taxes, National Insurance or benefits.
So all you have to do is tell us your budget and we will produce a package that suits both your business needs and your pocket.
# I just don’t think I need that much support.
Our VA’s can work for as little as 4 hours a month, which works out as an hour a week and it’s amazing what can be done in just one hour. This could be the difference from your working late 2-3 times a week or finishing on time every day.
# Can I sign up to a VA straight away?
In a word yes. There are a few things we need to discuss first but as a team of VA’s we offer a unique and bespoke service to each of our clients. once we’ve found out about you and your business and the types of support you need, we can then make sure you are not paying for services you do not need, and we can meet your budget to help you and your business grow profitably.
# Why do I need a discovery call?
We offer all new enquiries a FREE discovery call, as it is important that we understand exactly what support you need, before we start supporting your business. It might be that you need support in a different area than you expect, or you are not fully aware of the services that we can off you and your business.
# How will I meet my VA?
Once we have identified the services that you require, you will be designated one (or more) of our team to support you and your business. We then start with an introductory email, followed by a virtual meeting to meet your VA. You will then have a 30 minute meeting free each month with your VA, to give you the opportunity to discuss coming projects and last months achievements.
# How to I track the work my VA has provided?
Each month, in addition to the 30 minute catch up meeting with your VA, you will be provided with a monthly report of the tasks achieved. This way you can keep a record of the work the VA has carried out for you, which also enables you to track what tasks have been completed and how far they have progressed on a monthly basis.
# What happens when my VA is on holiday/off sick?
As part of our service, we provide you with back up support if your VA is on holiday or off sick. Your VA will actively keep you informed if they have any upcoming holiday, so they can work with you to accommodate the work they support you on around this. If however, you need support whilst they are off our team is there to provide your business with the back up support you need. We keep detailed notes on how to support our clients, so that in any event any member of the team can jump in and support you.
Now if there was a burning question that we didn’t answer please do email us at [email protected] and not only will we email you the answer back we’ll add it to this blog, so we can keep providing others with as much information about using a VA as we can.
